Electric Vehicle Idiots (EVI)

Seems the internet has no shortage of these, even on Tumblr.

Sorry to Intruder117 but look into whatever it is you’re about to post, otherwise someone’s going to call you on it.

Eric Bolling (Fox Business Channel’s Follow the Money) test drove the Chevy Volt at the invitation of General Motors.

For four days in a row, the fully charged battery lasted only 25 miles
before the Volt switched to the reserve gasoline engine.

Eric calculated the car got 30 mpg…

There’s more, however I’ll save you the headache and just move onto my points. Feel free to check out the full post on Intruder117’s page.

First:Fox News, FOX NEWS FFS!
They are a compass, a broken compass. Whatever direction they point, look elsewhere!

Second: NOWHERE in the United States is electricity $1.16/kwh! Flat out lie.

So for that example I’ll use an actual example from where I live: $0.11/kwh during peak hours.

16kwh*$0.11/kwh=$1.76, however is should be noted that out of the 16kwh battery you’re only allowed to use only 9 out of the 16 and uses at most 13kwh to charge it.

Actual cost to charge; $1.43.

Third:

It’s a RANGE EXTENDED electric vehicle, it’s part of the design that you can either use it for your daily commute or your weekend/vacation getaway. You reduce your fuel usage on the majority of your travels and yet can still travel across the country by putting MORE GAS in the tank like you do with EVERY OTHER car you’ve EVER owned. If you spent 14 hours plugged in you should hide the fact that you did so or think you need to because you’re an idiot.

Last:

It doesn’t take 10 hours to recharge unless it’s completely empty and plugged into your everyday outlet which then yes it does take that long. However you should have a proper charger installed in your garage which can charge the Volt in 3 hours. Complaining about this would be like complaining that your dryer needs a special plug to operate, it’s a large machine that requires lots of energy.
